COVID-19 Update: A look at Senter CPA’s Policies & Procedures for the 2021 Tax Season

by | Dec 12, 2020 | Community, Internal Revenue Service, Tax

To our wonderful Clients, Friends, and Family,

Tax season is upon us! Please take a moment to review the precautions we here at Senter, CPA are taking to ensure a safe and efficient tax season.

To adhere to the social distancing mandate, and to limit the amount of traffic coming in and out of the office, only some of our staff will be working in the office, and the rest will be working remotely. We have embraced the suggested guidelines and are following normal protocol to ensure safety and respect for ALL.

The technology that is available to us has allowed us to continue operating efficiently as we continue to serve and grow throughout this pandemic, all while helping those in need. We are so grateful for each of our clients’ willingness to be flexible and respectful as we all try to do our part to keep our community safe and healthy.

What we ask of you:

  • Unless you have an appointment, please call prior to stopping in the office to ensure that our staff is prepared and that other clients are not in our suite.
  • Please wear a mask when entering the building, not only out of respect for our firm, but also for the other businesses in the building.
  • Please schedule a video or teleconference meeting when applicable. In-person meetings will be accommodated, but when possible, let’s take advantage of the technology that’s available to us.

What you can expect from us:

  • The same great service you are accustomed to. We will be answering phone calls and responding to emails per usual, not skipping a beat.
  • A clean facility – we will be actively sanitizing all high traffic and touched surfaces as individuals enter and exit our suite.

Let’s revisit some of our previous updates:

We cannot wait until we’re able to get together in person, gather in large groups, shake hands, hug (where appropriate) and all those fun things we use to do.

If you have any comments, questions or suggestions please use the ‘Contact Us’ section below or give us a call at 248-934-0550. We’d love to hear from you.

We are continuously grateful for you and for the opportunity to serve you.

The Rotary Club of Clarkston Needs YOU

As an affiliate of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, the Rotary Club of Clarkston is committed to creating a community that works for all children and all families, especially those most in need. Literacy is the foundation of a child’s education and helping kids thrive is our priority.

With generous funding support from our friends in the Clarkston community and Rotary network, we have partnered with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Program to mail a new book to each enrolled child under 5 every month at no cost to his or her family.

2025 Individual Tax Return Process

At Senter, CPA, our goal is to make your tax preparation experience as seamless and efficient as possible.

What are QCD’s?

Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) are a tax-efficient way for eligible IRA owners to support charitable organizations while managing taxable income. Individuals who are age 70½ or older may donate up to $108,000 in 2025 directly from a traditional IRA to a qualified charity. When structured properly, a QCD is excluded from taxable income, may satisfy Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) requirements, and can help reduce overall tax liability.

Common Tax Documentation for 2025 Tax Season

Getting your tax documents organized for your preparer can feel overwhelming—but you don’t have to do it alone. One of the most common questions we hear is, “What documents do I need for my individual tax return?”

2025 Senter, CPA Year in Review

Reflecting on 2025, Senter CPA has experienced significant growth and success, both personally and professionally. As we roll into 2026, we’re heading into our ninth year as a firm. That’s wild. It honestly feels like just yesterday that we unlocked the doors on January 1, 2018.

URGENT: New Electronic Payment Requirements

Tax season is getting a serious tech upgrade.

New Schedule C Excel Worksheet For 2025

If you file Schedule C as a sole proprietor or single-member LLC, you already know how detailed the IRS can be. The form requires a thorough breakdown of your business income and expenses, leaving little room for guesswork. Schedule C is the primary IRS form used to report your business’s profit or loss and completing it accurately is essential for both compliance and tax planning.

New Schedule E Excel Worksheet For 2025

If you report rental income on Schedule E, you already know the IRS wants your numbers broken out by category and by property. Schedule E is the main IRS form used to report rental real estate income and expenses on your personal return, and clean detail makes prep faster and cuts down on follow-ups.
