Happy Thanksgiving

by | Nov 24, 2022 | Community, Team

Happy Thanksgiving to all Senter, CPA, P.C. clients, team, friends, and community.

Since today is Thanksgiving, I wanted to share a few things that, myself and the rest of the Senter CPA team, are thankful for:

  1. Our wonderful clients for trusting in us and being such kind stewards of our firm
  2. Our top-notch TEAM for their hard work and dedication to serving our clients and our communities
  3. Our families for supporting us ALL
  4. Our friends for always being there for us, being our best champions and helping when we need it
  5. Our community for being the rock where we are able to work, play and grow (this extends way beyond our roots in Clarkston, MI)

There’s lots of history and traditions that surround Thanksgiving. We’d love for you to comment on your favorite traditions or dishes that make yours special. By the time you are reading this, the Senter family will have made its way to Tennessee for their annual Thanksgiving week traditions. With families growing and aging some things have changed but gathering as a family, enjoying each other’s company, and eating some good ol’ southern cuisine is always the ticket to a special Thanksgiving. Matt’s favorite is Chess Pie.

2022 has been a year full of growth and challenges, both personally and professionally. We are super proud of the fact that we have upgraded our team to better serve you and always have exciting things on the horizon.

We here at Senter CPA hope you all enjoy wonderful Thanksgiving meals with your families and friends!

We are thankful for YOU!

The IRS Dirty Dozen for 2026 and Why Those “Tax Hacks” Might Cost You

Every year, the IRS releases its “Dirty Dozen” list of tax scams, and every year the schemes get a little more creative and a lot more convincing. The 2026 list is no exception.

Extensions Aren’t Scary

Not going to make the April 15the deadline?

Beware of the Latest IRS Impersonation Scam

IRS impersonation scams are becoming more sophisticated. The newest trend involves fraudulent IRS communications – delivered via email, phone calls, or even seemingly official mail – that attempt to intimidate individuals into providing personal information or making payments.

National Reading Month at Senter, CPA

March is National Reading Month, and it’s a reminder of something simple but incredibly powerful: books change lives.

Most of us can remember our favorite childhood story. You know the one we asked to hear again and again before bedtime, or the book that first made reading feel fun instead of like homework. Those early moments matter more than we often realize. They help children build confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.

That’s one of the reasons Senter, CPA has chosen to support the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

If you’ve ever wondered what happens after you drop off your tax documents, here’s a little behind-the-scenes look at life inside a small CPA firm during tax season.

Sharing Online Banking with Your Accountant

To allow your accountant access to your bank’s online banking system, follow these general steps. This typically involves navigating to a “User Management” or “Account Access” section, where you can add a new user and set permissions—usually “view-only” for accountants.

The 7 Deadly (Tax) Sins of Small Business Owners

Running a business is hard enough — between serving customers, managing staff, and juggling invoices, your taxes can feel like an afterthought. But beware, small business owner: the IRS has seen it all, and a few “little” mistakes can cost you big.
