Now Accepting eSignatures!
As of January 2021, Senter CPA is now allowing our clients to sign their tax documents electronically!
What Does This Mean for You?
It means convenience and faster service. No more printing, signing, scanning, then emailing, delivering, or mailing tax documents to our office, just so we can get a signature from you. The process takes less than a minute and will help us get your documents to the IRS quickly and efficiently.
What Do We Need From You?
We will need a valid email address, and if you are filing joint, we will also need your spouse’s email address. The IRS has set strict rules on how documents can be e-signed, as a result, if you are married, we are required to send the eSignature request to two separate email addresses.
If you would like to get started signing electronically, give our office a call at (248) 934-0550, so we can get the correct data in our system or verify what we have. If you have already signed electronically through us previously, then you are already setup and ready to go!
How Does it Work?
Once we have your email address on file, we will send you the request to sign via email. Depending on what you are signing, you may be presented with a question, or a series of questions, you will need to correctly answer to authenticate. Once you have reviewed the documents that have been sent to you, simply type your name, choose your writing style, and submit. That’s it! We will take it from there.
Once we send an e-Signature request to you, you will continue to receive reminders until it is either signed, declined by you, or the request has expired.
Does it Work on Mobile Devices?
It sure does! Any mobile device (cell phones, tablets, etc.), desktops, and laptops can all be used to e-Sign.
Is it Secure?
You bet! The eSignature addon we use is fully compliant, and it meets the IRS requirement for Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA).
Exclusions
Unfortunately, due to limitations set by the IRS, we currently can only collect eSignatures for our 1040 clients. If you are filing anything other than a 1040, for now, we will still have to get a physical signature from you.
Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.
