Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized bookkeeper to handle day-to-day bookkeeping, monthly client accounting services, payroll processing and financial reporting for our clients. The ideal candidate is a team player, proactive, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to high-quality client service. This role will involve managing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and supporting our tax team.

The ideal candidate should be able to support 25-30 clients with monthly client accounting services (bookkeeping), 5-10 weekly payroll processing clients (small), 15-20 quarterly payroll return and annual W-2s and 1099s. Tax preparation is not a requirement of this position.

You’ll have the opportunity to work with a diverse client portfolio, handling bookkeeping, payroll, and financial reporting while closely supporting our tax team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain client relationships with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and personalized service
  • Perform and review financial transactions, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
  • Manage projects and ensure completion of firm checklists
  • Process payroll for clients and prepare necessary quarterly and annual reports
  • Collaborate with CPAs to support tax preparation and financial projects
  • Organize and manage supporting documentation and workpapers, ensuring financial accuracy
  • Provide insightful recommendations on firm policies and procedures for improved efficiency
  • Actively contribute to our team environment through problem-solving and initiative

Qualifications and Skills

  • Required: 5+ years in bookkeeping, payroll processing, and client management within a CPA firm environment
  • Experience with: QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Microsoft Excel, payroll tax returns, financial statement workpapers and financial statement preparation
  • Preferred: Degree in Accounting, familiarity with Accounting CS and Onvio platforms
