Location: Remote/ Anywhere (In-person/in-office training)
Duration: Full time. Extended hours during tax season (February – April 15th)
Start date: When the right person is found (there will be a 90-day introductory/probationary period)
Salary: Commensurate with experience (please provide requirements with resume)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm (some flexibility allowed)

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Staff Accountant is responsible for any accounting and tax related engagements of the firm. This role will mainly be to maintain our growing accounting, tax and payroll clients and any related activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Bookkeeping: Monthly, Quarterly, Annual for multiple clients
    • Reconcile balance sheet
    • Maintain general ledger and coordinate with clients to properly code all transactions
    • Facilitate electronic source documents
    • Prepare financial reports
  • Process weekly client payroll
  • Tax return preparation: Individual, Trusts, Partnership & Corporation
  • Data entry
  • Scanning and electronically filing documents
  • Perform other duties as assigned by team

JOB QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Committed to a client service approach
  • Understanding of tax planning concepts
  • Has excellent communication skills
  • Possession of strong organizational skills
  • Punctual
  • Ability to work remote and heavy use of leading technologies
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
  • Ability to effectively operate office equipment and computer programs
  • Ability to work independently on assigned task as well as to accept direction on given assignments
  • Ability to work effectively with staff members and clients in a remote / virtual environment
  • Has a dedicated home office workspace
  • Ability to attend training in-person, at Senter, CPA’s office

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • At least three years of bookkeeping and QuickBooks experience REQUIRED
  • At least three years of tax experience (preparing individual and business returns) REQUIRED
  • Payroll experience REQUIRED
  • CPA NOT required but considered
  • Thomson Reuters Tax, Accounting and Virtual Office and or ONVIO experience A PLUS but NOT required
  • Office 365 Suite A PLUS
