Kelly Thompson

Staff Accountant

My name is Kelly.  I am so excited to be welcomed by the Senter, CPA team as I restart my career, now that both my children are in school full time.

I am so grateful for this opportunity to introduce myself.

Before my professional career, I attended the University of Michigan, graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration.

Through college and until my firstborn made her appearance, I have worked in the financial industry – most recently as a Treasurer with a local sporting goods store.  Prior to that, I was an Accounting Clerk for a financial company that handled all of the accounting responsibilities from start to finish.

Throughout my college years, and to this day, I’ve had, and have, so much fun supporting my alma matter!  My mother-in-law and I attended the annual Women’s Football Academy at the Big House for 9 years until the academy dissolved in 2013.  We would spend an entire day learning the fundamentals of the game of football taught to us by the team, staff, and coaches themselves!  We got to tour the gyms, locker rooms, offices, museum, practice fields, and conference rooms.

One of our favorites was to have lunch with the players, ending each academy with a fun and friendly scrimmage in the Big House. We always left with a sense of pride having raised money for the Coach Carr Cancer Fund, and also feeling as though we had made friends with the players and coaches.  When the season came around, we felt like we were watching our buddies on the field and sidelines.

Attending games each season is still something we look forward to with a special new appreciation now that we get to watch a couple games through our children’s eyes.

Some of my favorite things to do are:

  • Horseback Riding
  • Planning
  • Printing & Organizing Our Photos/Scrapbooking
  • UofM Football
  • Boating, Tubing, Kayaking, Paddle Boarding
  • Doing just about anything with my kids (Audrey, 8), (Brody, 6) and husband (Josh). They are the highlight of my days.
  • Recently, we’ve taken to growing some of our own vegetables (tomatoes, zucchini, cantaloupe, watermelon, and orange peppers).

My husband and kids surprised me with a weekend in Ludington for my birthday. A highlight was trail riding at this incredible facility!

I am beyond grateful to work with each of my new team members at Senter, CPA, and look forward to meeting our clients. If you ever need anything, please call 248-934-0550.
