We are a full-service CPA firm providing tax, accounting and consulting services in Southeastern, Michigan and across the US. We offer a fun work environment and client service atmosphere.

We are looking for a driven, detail oriented professional with a positive attitude to join our growing team. The Certified Public Accountant (CPA) plays an important role in maintaining positive and valuable client experiences. Location: Clarkston, MI (position will start out as remote and eventually become an in office or hybrid environment)
Duration: Full-Time
Start date: TBD with a 90-day introductory/probationary period
Salary: $60,000 – $100,000 Commensurate with experience (provide requirements with resume)
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is responsible for the firm’s overall tax and accounting activities. Directs and coordinates office, client and facility services and any related activities. This position would be in heavy contact with clients and final authority on work assignments, acting on behalf of the firm, providing exceptional client service. As such, it’s important to be personable, professional, and helpful when working in this position. Serving as an added voice and face of our company, he or she will be integral to reinforcing our reputation, accuracy and exceptional customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Tax Preparation: (must have experience filing and signing returns)
    • Individual Tax Preparation experience is REQUIRED
    • Corporate & Partnership Tax Preparation is REQUIRED
    • Trust & Estate Tax Preparation A PLUS but NOT required
  • Experience with Ultra Tax is REQUIRED
  • Experience with Onvio A PLUS but NOT required
  • Experience with Tax Projections & Planning is REQUIRED
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online is REQUIRED
  • Experience performing and reviewing monthly client accounting services and/or bookkeeping is REQUIRED
  • Experience preparing quarterly payroll tax returns is REQUIRED
  • Experience with financial statement preparation A PLUS but NOT required
  • Identify and address client needs with a goal of complete satisfaction
  • Build rapport with clients by engaging with them in an inviting, friendly, and professional manner, to deliver exceptional experiences and nurture lasting relationships
  • Respond quickly, professionally, and accurately to all client inquiries
  • Managing projects & firm checklists
  • Assembling, distributing documents and obtaining client signatures
  • Provide initiative, recommendations, and assistance regarding policies, procedures, and firm matters

  • Ability to type 30 words per minute
  • Ability to work independently on assigned task, as well as to accept direction on given assignments
  • Ability to work effectively with staff members, clients, and vendors
  • Able to work individually and as a team

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Possession of a Certified Public Accountant License (CPA) is REQUIRED
  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting and tax role
  • 2+ years of experience signing tax returns and ability to demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position 
  • CPA firm experience and full-charge management of client work is REQUIRED

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Remote to start until we procure and build out new office space in the next 12 – 18 months – availability to meet clients in office conference room

  • Occasional overtime hours required (on as needed basis and during tax season)
